NATHAN Brown said his side created 60 to 70 points

first_imgNATHAN Brown said his side created 60 to 70 points and looked far better with the ball as they beat Bradford 30-18 on Sunday.Saints scored five tries and could have had a whole host more in a win that took them into the Play Off spots.“We obviously created 60 or 70 points which was pleasing for us considering where we’ve been,” he said. “We were the better side with the ball and we were defensively good too. We did do too much defending in the second half though and at times our attention to detail on the final pass wasn’t so great.“The game was in the balance in the second half but the issue was with how much defence we were doing. Their dummy half runners unloaded the ball and that caused us trouble. On the edges and middle we held up pretty well. The game would have been out far away if we had some possession.“But to where we were three weeks ago it is pleasing.”He continues: “Jonny Lomax did well and played some stand off and full back. He rolled a bit between the two with Wello. Paul is doing well at 6 and had some good touches.“Our attack from this week to the last was far better. We had more ball movement and that is what happens when you bring in the likes of Roby and Lomax.“We came through injury free and now we need a little luck to keep those combinations and get better.”last_img read more

Worldwide Internet Users to Surpass 27 Billion in 2013

first_imgAdvertisement Ugandans should increase Internet usage capacities in order to bring down the it’s costThe total number of people connected to the Internet worldwide is expected to surpass 2.7 billion in 2013, while the total number of applications downloaded over all types of devices will exceed 50 billion, a new report by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) has said. The 2013 edition of ITU’s flagship regulatory report ‘Trends in Telecommunication Reform’, highlights the increasingly global nature of information and communication technology (ICT) regulation and the crucial link between effective regulation of the ICT sector and the range, quality and affordability of ICT services available to consumers and business users alike.Focusing on ‘Transnational Aspects of Regulation in a Networked Society’, this year’s report confirms continued rapid expansion of tech markets worldwide. – Advertisement – “Rapid growth of broadband has seen global IP traffic skyrocket from around one petabyte 20 years ago to an estimated 44,000 petabytes (44 exabytes) at end 2012. As an indicator of the sheer volume this represents, that amount of data would take 1,100 years to download over a 10Mbps broadband link – or more than 200,000 years over a dial-up connection. In 2013 alone, IP traffic is expected to grow by around 14 exabytes per month – the monthly equivalent of twice total cumulative global traffic for the whole decade from 1994 – 2003.“Traffic volumes are being driven by the ever-growing number of connected people and connectable devices, the trend toward multiple device ownership, an abundance of highly diversified and mostly free online content, and increasingly widespread consumer access to fixed and mobile broadband networks capable of supporting high-bandwidth services like streaming video. The total number of people connected to the Internet is expected to surpass 2.7 billion in 2013, while the total number of applications downloaded over all types of devices will exceed 50 billion’, the report said.ITU’s Secretary-General Dr Hamadoun Toure commenting on the report said: “These are interesting times for regulators, with the full impact of the long-term trend towards globalization of services now beginning to be felt.Credit: Daily Trustlast_img read more
